Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,火星大気の同位体精密分析に向け,超小型で高質量分解能(m/dm > 10,000)を持つオービトラップ型質量分析器を開発している.図面設計後に試験機を製作してでの性能検証試験を実施した.組み立て公差に対して非常に敏感なため,精度保証する組み上げプロセスを考慮しながら図面を作成した.また,オプティクスの一部には100Vを超える高電圧も使用するため,放電のリスクを回避することも念頭に置いた.
検証試験では,供試体を真空槽内に設置し,窒素ガスを微量(< mPa)導入しつつ,フィラメントによるガス分子のイオン化を行い,そのイオンを1us以下の極短時間に集中させて質量分析器に導入した.イオン集中化部分が開発の山場であったが, <1usでイオンが集中して質量分析器に投入されていること,イオンの空間電荷効果によるイオン集中量の飽和などが事前の理論予想通りになっていることなどを,実験データ上で確認できた.
質量測定部に火星大気を取り込む前段階でNeとArを分別する膜を開発し,実際の透過特性とその時間依存性を確認した.測定精度向上のために,ゲッター式ポンプを用いて小型・軽量・無電源ながら真空度を維持する機能を考案した.飛翔体搭載を意識して,1センチ四方の小型ゲッターに対して,振動・衝撃耐性を考慮した設計を考案し,実際に80gのゲッター排気部を試作した.
さらに,表面環境遠隔モニタするための可視カメラの設計検討も行った.具体的には耐放射線性を考慮したレンズを含めて5枚のレンズを組み合わせ,フィルターターレットを組み合わせた分光光学系を考案した.電気回路部やCCDなど,既存の宇宙ミッションにおいて使用された経験も考慮しながら現実的な設計検討に落とし込んだ.この遠隔観測システムは火星表層の観測に留まらず,小天体探査など様々な応用が可能である.
