原子分解能DPC STEMに基づく実空間電荷密度マッピング法の開発と材料界面解析

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、申請者らが近年開発した原子分解能DPC STEM法をベースとして、材料局所領域の電荷密度分布を原子レベルで実空間マッピングするための新たな電子顕微鏡法を開発する。更に、この手法を無機材料界面構造解析に応用することで、金属/セラミックスなどの異種結晶間の界面形成メカニズムを原子・電子スケールから本質的に明らかにすることを目指す。これにより、酸化物や金属などの界面構造が電子移動・電荷分布変化を伴ってどのように形成され機能・特性を発現するのかに関する根本的な理解が可能になるとともに、材料界面超微細構造解析手法に新たなブレークスルーをもたらすことが期待できる。
本年度は、原子分解能DPC STEM法による原子電場定量解析手法の研究を行い、分割型検出器による電場定量化手法を開発した。従来の重心計測手法に対して、微分位相コントラスト伝達関数を定義し、弱位相物体近似下において光学条件の影響をデコンボリューションすることにより、電場定量化が可能であることを示した。更に、サブÅ分解能を有するSTEMを用いて原子分解能DPC STEM観察を行い、実験的にSrTiO3結晶中の原子カラムごとの原子電場直接観察及びアモルファス膜上に堆積した金単原子内部の原子電場直接観察に成功した。この際、実験結果とイオンポテンシャルを仮定したマルチスライス計算を行い、原子電場が原子のイオン性(チャージの影響)に敏感であることを示した。また、電場分布から電荷密度分布への変換に関しても十分に対応できる実験精度の原子電場を得ることに成功した。

Reason

平成29年度は①原子分解能DPC STEM法による原子電場定量解析手法の確立、②原子分解能DPC STEM法による局所電荷密度分布直接観察法の開発、③原子分解能DPC STEM法の像形成理論解析を並行して行い、いずれの項目についても一定の成果を得ることができた。特に、①,③に関しては論文発表も行っており、計画以上に進んでいる。②に関しては、元となる原子電場を如何に高精度に計測するのかに依存することが明らかとなり、DPC STEM法のノイズ評価が必須であることが分かった。来年度は、ノイズに関する評価を進める予定である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

来年度は、引き続き①~③の研究を鋭意推進するとともに、④モデル界面作製と原子分解能DPC STEM構造解析の項目も並行して進めていく予定である。得られた知見に関しては、適宜論文、学会発表などで外部報告する予定である。
