Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As a result of analyzing information on cleaning of citric acid, beer, washing rice juice, etc., false information was found that claimed that the cleaning factor of beer was vitamin E. In addition, the acid-alkali neutralization theory, which claims that cleaning using acid or alkali is performed by neutralization, is widespread, but it was confirmed that the theory is chemically incorrect. Experimental verification concluded that it is appropriate to explain the removal of metal stains by acid by Le Chatelier's principle. It was also found that the detergency of beer is due to the combined effects of alcohol and protein, and the detergency of washing rice juice is due to the combined effects of starch granules, protein, rice bran oil and the like. In addition, research on peripheral technologies such as evaluation of interactions by the probability density functional method and image analysis using ultraviolet rays was also advanced.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
消費者情報は便利で役立つ材料であるが、その中に誤情報が入り込みやすい点が問題である。本研究はナチュラルクリーニングを題材として、科学的な誤情報を明示するとともに、その原因が何によるかを明らかにした。消費者情報環境を整備するうえで貴重なデータが得られた。また過去の生活の知恵から、エマルション洗浄や各種塩溶液による洗浄技術開拓につながるヒントを得る一つのパターン化が確立された。確率密度関数法が画像解析の洗浄性評価手法の発展に寄与した点も評価できる。
