I wrote the paper entitled “Nonfarm Employment, Inflationary Expectations, and Monetary Policy after the Global Financial Crisis.” This appeared as a RIETI discussion paper(18-E-076). The paper entitled “The Exposure of U.S. Manufacturing Industries to Exchange Rates” has been accepted by the refereed journal called the International Review of Economics & Finance. I have also been examining oil prices. These are important for inflationary dynamics. The paper entitled “How Oil Prices Affect East and Southeast Asian Economies: Evidence from Financial Markets and Implications for Energy Security” has been accepted by the refereed journal Energy Policy. The paper entitled “Oil Prices and the U.S. Economy: Evidence from the Stock Market” has appeared as a RIETI Working Paper(19-E-003).

The current status is fine. Much of the research has been well received by the academic community.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to keep working in the same areas. I also want to investigate the electronics industry, where prices keep falling fast. I plan to tie the diverse results together in order to tell one coherent story.
