極弱相互作用を持つ軽い新粒子の宇宙論的進化と探索

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高橋はダークフォトンがダークマターとなるシナリオにおいて,新たな生成機構を提案した。特に従来難しかった極めて軽い質量をもつダークフォトンが冷たいダークマターとなることがわかった。さらに隠れたセクターにおけるモノポールがアクシオンを通じて標準理論粒子と結合するシナリオを提唱し,そのようなアクシオンが将来実験で見つかりうるパラメター領域およびダークマター直接探査によってモノポールが見つかる領域を同定した。また高橋はaxion-like particleがインフレーションを引き起こした場合に,その質量と崩壊定数の間にシンプルな関係があることを発見し,将来ビームダンプ実験で検証可能な領域があることを示した。石渡はマルチメッセンジャー天文学を活用した暗黒物質探索の研究を遂行した。暗黒物質から発生しうる宇宙線粒子全てを天の川銀河内と銀河外それぞれの領域でシミュレーションし、それらを現在存在する高エネルギー宇宙線観測データ全てと比較し、暗黒物質の性質に迫るコードを完成させた。今回特に着目したのは高エネルギー領域のデータであったが、低いエネルギー領域の宇宙線観測への応用が期待でき、今後の極弱新粒子探索に繋がる研究成果を得ることができた。素粒子論において、世代の数がなぜ3であるかは大きな謎であり、標準模型ではこれを説明することができない。超対称非線形シグマ模型は世代数3を説明する一つの可能性である。横崎は,この模型が超重力と無矛盾であることを要求するとアクシオンの存在が予言されることを示した。このアクシオンは、ABRACADABRA等の将来実験で検出が可能である。
