Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究における目的は、“無機キラル化合物の結晶構造キラリティを制御出来る新規不斉結晶育成手法の開発”と、“キラル磁性体における結晶と磁気構造のキラリティ結合の実験的検証”である。平成29年度において得られた成果は以下の通りである。
(a) 無機キラル化合物の不斉結晶育成手法の開発
水溶性キラル化合物の不斉結晶育成手法である撹拌法をより発展させることで、水溶性無機キラル磁性体CsCuCl3のcmオーダーの大きさを有する大型不斉単結晶の育成に成功した。単結晶育成環境の根本的な見直しと単結晶育成条件のさらなる最適化により、単結晶サイズの大型化及び結晶モザイクの大幅な改善が達成された。また、ラセミ双晶結晶が生成される水に不溶なキラル化合物については、撹拌法を高温で実施する為の電気炉の構築及びその周辺環境の整備を行った。さらに、自発的に結晶キラリティが偏る物質においては、レーザー浮遊帯域炉による浮遊帯域法により無機キラル磁性体FeSi, CoSi，(Fe,Co)Siの大型単結晶育成に成功した。今後、これら構築した結晶育成環境を引き続き活用して、水に不溶なキラル化合物の不斉単結晶育成手法の確立及びその不斉単結晶の大型化を目指す。
(b) キラル磁性体における結晶と磁気構造のキラリティ結合の実験的検証
無機キラル磁性体の物性測定を実施し、本物質群における詳細な磁気相図の作成を行った。また、中性子散乱測定に向けてキラル磁性体におけるスピン分散曲線の理論計算を行った。

Reason

研究は当初の計画通りに進められている。
まず、水溶性無機キラル化合物CsCuCl3のcmオーダーの良質な不斉単結晶試料の育成に成功した。水に不溶なキラル化合物の不斉結晶育成についても、FeSi, CoSi，(Fe,Co)Siの大型単結晶育成に成功したことと結晶育成環境の整備を完了することが出来た為、引き続き、水に不溶なキラル化合物の不斉結晶育成を目指す。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後も当初の計画に基づいて研究を推進する予定である。
水に不溶なキラル化合物の不斉結晶育成手法を確立する為、整備した環境を用いた無機キラル化合物の結晶育成を行う。また、得られた不斉単結晶試料による中性子散乱測定も行う予定である。
