Outline of Annual Research Achievements

エスチュアリーの形成モデルに関して、ホーチミン市を流れるドンタップ河の河床堆積物と水質調査の解析を行い、メコン河で確認できたように河口に向かって川幅が広がり、水深が減少すること、また潮汐卓越の環境では泥質堆積物が卓越することが示された。またメコン河の約700年前に放棄された分流水路（Ba Lai distributary）が埋積された地域において長尺のボーリングと短尺のハンドボーリンングによる試料採取を行い、層相と年代から堆積モデルを構築した。放棄河道は、河川からの直接的な流入が無いことから砂粒子の供給が少なく、外海側に供給された別の河口からの泥質堆積物が潮汐によって逆流して供給され、泥質堆積物によって埋積されていることがわかった。特に非常に早い堆積速度を示し、45-263年間に埋積したことがわかった。また河口の河口州については、潮汐が卓越する沿岸域の河口州と同じく、上方細粒化のサクセッションを形成することがわかった。これらの成果は、Marine Geology, Frontier in Earth Science, Scientific ReportsとSedimentologyほかに発表した。これらの成果は、潮汐卓越型のデルタの分流水路の結果であるが、外洋側からの堆積物供給が多いエスチュアリーの堆積にも貢献する。またデルタの堆積作用や人間活動の影響、変遷に関して、黄河、長江、紅河、メコン河、イラワジ河に関してとりまとめた。
