| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The objectives of my PhD research work are (a) to measure trends in universal health coverage (UHC) indicators over the period 1990-2015 and project UHC indicators to the year 2030 in Asian and Sub-Saharan African countries, and (b) to estimate the probability of achieving UHC targets in those countries by 2030.
I already reviewed earlier literature and developed concrete concepts and finalized the research plan. After much consultation with my supervisor and colleagues, I finalized the analyses plans for my PhD work; and selected about 15 indicators which will be used for the assessment of UHC in Asian and Sub-Saharan African countries. I collected rest of the required data and completed data management for performing the analysis.

Reason
I have already completed data management for my analysis. The preliminary analysis for the first project is already complete and I presented the findings of the first project in the interim presentation for PhD at the University of Tokyo. I also developed a Bayesian hierarchical model which will be used in the second project.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I am expecting to write two manuscripts along with my PhD Thesis at the beginning of the third year of my Doctoral course. Additionally, I will present my research findings at national and international conference.
