Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Three papers (1 journal and 2 international conferences) were published in this fiscal year as a co-author. The prototype of a wearable sensor that can measure 3-axis force from human fingers was successfully developed. The result was published at IEEE Robotics and Automation Letter (RA-L). Compared to other wearable force sensors, the work in this research detects the deformation of human finger muscles.
uSkin, a compact, distributed, soft 3-axis skin sensor for robot hands that is also the outcome of this research was exhibited at the Monozukuri Hardware Cup 2019 through XELA Robotics that was held in Hack Osaka 2019, a Global Innovation Conference. A 3rd Place Award was achieved in this competition, and the sensor was featured in several media.
