Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Our research uses the required class Academic English for Electrical and Electronic Engineers to develop The Growth Mindset. The first semester class begins with a 20 minute Writing Assessment. Using this writing and former TOEIC scores, we divided the class in 21 teams. Teams chose a name, leader, and took a group shot. In the last class, we gave the final written assessment and awarded various prizes. After analysis we will determine if the class procedures helped students write better organized English passages. We consider that the effect of teams and leaders is important to the motivation and performance of the students. The evaluation of the entry and final assessments are the main data. We also consider other factors, such as the subjective opinions of students in Japanese.
