Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The progress of the planned research is satisfactory. The instrumental setup necessary to run the laboratory experiments is purchased. The research design is in the secondary verification stage. The research results that so far obtained either from the current project or related research theme in progress in my laboratory has been reported in five peer-reviewed journal articles (Microchem. J. 2018, 139, 174; J. Mol. Liq. 2018, 254, 241; Microchem. J. 2017, 134, 230; J. Mol. Liq. 2017, 242, 1123; J. Chromatogr. B 2017, 1060, 190). Three presentations in international conferences also include some preliminary results from the ongoing research project.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is moving ahead as planned. We have completed most of the purchases that could be necessary to run the laboratory experiments. Some preliminary experiments have been completed to verify the proposed research theme. The secondary verification step has been initiated and expected to be completed by the next fiscal year.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Optimization of solid-phase extraction (SPE) systems for the selective recovery of potentially-toxic-elements from aqueous matrices. Validation of the optimized operating protocol to understand and resolve the interfering impacts due to the natural geochemical processes on the efficiency of SPE systems. Publication of the research results in the peer-reviewed journals, and report in the scientific meetings.
