Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Subject were19 patients with Major depressive disorder and 50 healthy controls. Fecal sample were analyzed using two-step polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and next-generation 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Intestinal permeability was evaluated using the lactulose / mannitol test. The abundance of several bacteria were found significant differences, although, there was no difference in intestinal permeability measured by Lactulose-Mannitol test between patients and controls.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
