Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have developed a non-invasive glucose sensor without calibration by using two color mid-infrared (MIR) lasers. The glucose concentrations in blood were taken for three healthy volunteers during 3 months using a standard oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Numerical values for the subjects' glucose concentration levels were obtained using commercial self-monitoring of blood glucose prior to in vivo optical experiments. As a result, the precision of our two color MIR glucose sensor was improved compared with the monochromatic MIR sensor even if individual differences exist.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
