Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to elucidate the brain activity by which transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) affects the functions of movement and postural maintenance, and to determine the relationship between kinematic and posture. We compared the subjective postural vertical (SPV) perception before and after stimulation of the supplementary motor area(SMA) with tDCS, suggesting that tDCS has an effective influence on the SPV vertical perception in postural control. The results of this study suggest that tDCS has an effective effect on the vertical cognition of SPV, which is a part of the postural control.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
