Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Throughout the entire research period, the actual situation and dynamics of the satirical culture that emerged in the early 17th century were analyzed in detail, their impact on theater was investigated, and the history of theater during the relevant period was reviewed. Specifically, we have traced chronologically the roles of Marston, Jonson, Dekker, and others in the “Poets’ War,” in which the influence of the satirical culture became most apparent, and have clearly described the state of the satirical culture by analyzing the satirical plays of these playwrights and reviewing the influence of their plays on each other. Furthermore, by analyzing the Parnassus trilogy, which is thought to contain various elements of the satirical culture, we have proved that the plays are an objective summary of the satirical culture of the period.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
