Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the academic year 2020 the researchers received an official book offer to publish the findings of the present project from Palgrave, Contract no. 123460. The publication agreement includes international distribution with Palgrave. The finalizing of the this publishing contract has led to three main activities carried out during the academic year. 1) finalizing of the manuscript. this includes collaboration regarding analysis results and synthesizing pertinent data. 2) the translation of the text for the final manuscript. As the publisher requires the manuscript to be written in English, all chapters and texts originally written in Spanish needed to be translated. This required the negotiating of contractual terms for the translation and carrying out related administrative procedures. Also, a review of the translation had to be carried out. 3) the editing of the final texts and integration of the chapters into the manuscript. This also required various reviews of the manuscript to assure coherency of the chapters and eliminate stylistic errors. In addition to the above, considerable time was spent negotiating with the readers hired by the editorial to assess the publishability of the project. Addressing queries by the readers required considerable research and collaboration.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Extensions to the current project afforded by schedule adjustments due to the pandemic allowed the researchers time to redact the manuscript to be published. The initial publishing contract was considerably delayed because the publishing company experienced several problems with reviewers that were somewhat hostile towards the findings of our analysis. The publishing company eventually agreed with our perspective and hired new reviewers. The re-submission of our book proposal on three different occasions led to a considerable delay in receiving an official contract as well as the production of the manuscipt.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
This last year of the project will be dedicated to reviewing the manuscript for publication. Also, translation of the prologue will be expedited. This will require a review and comparison of the original Spanish text with the translation to confirm accuracy. In addition, final reviews of the manuscript will be required by each member of the research project. This will require collaboration and coordination among the members to ensure coherency of the texts. Administrative procedures related to the publishing contract as well as further negotiation related to distribution will be requred. The book is scheduled to be published this year and be distributed worldwide.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The current pandemic restricted many of the activities scheduled for the past academic year. As a result the redaction of the manuscript to be submitted for publication was delayed. in addition, English translation was required for a large portion of the manuscript which was written in Spanish by one of the researchers. For the upcoming academic year, the remaining funds will be utilized for the translation of the the conclusion and the prologue which, when complete, will be submitted in Spanish.
