Outline of Final Research Achievements

Through this research project, for Aymara (an inidgenous language of the Andes) and for Aynu (an indigenous language of Japan), we were able to collect and recover additional oral narrative recordings and previously gathered unpublished materials.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

いわゆる「危機に瀕した言語」とされるアンデス先住民言語および日本のアイヌ語については、アイマラ語には現代においても多数の話者がおり、アイヌ語についても若い世代を中心に言語を回復しようとする動きが進んでいる。このような現代的な状況に対して、資料の記録と回復と公刊は研究者が行うことのできる重要な貢献であり、その意味で社会的意義があった。また、アンデスとアイヌの口承文学が近年の文化人類学における研究動向であるパースペクティビズムの観点からどのように分析できるかは、いまだに十分に取り組まれていない研究主題であり、その点において学術的意義があった。
