| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I published a book titled "The Grammar of Kansai Vernacular Japanese" by Kangaku Press. This book introduces in English several linguistic characteristics of spoken Japanese, as well as the grammar and vocabulary of spoken Japanese in the Kansai region.
I created a website to share my corpus data, and highlight some recent research achievements. The corpus data is now available for download directly from the internet. The website is both in English and Japanese.
I conducted several talks and wrote several research papers (precedings) for those talks.

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
My goal is to gather spoken Japanese data, transcribe the data, and post the data on the internet. The most difficult task is gathering the data. This process was completed in March of this year. Furthermore, over 90% of the data has already been transcribed and posted on the internet. I anticipate that the remainding 10% will be completed by the fall of 2019.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to complete the transcriptions, and post the data to the internet. Once this is complete, I will begin to publicize the availability of the data so that other researchers may start to use it.

| Causes of Carryover |
The amount (500 yen) is too small to pay personnel for one hour of work.
