Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to analyze the activities in English classes at junior and senior high schools using the key concept of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), to reveal the transformation of English learners' communication ability through language activities, and to share the results of this research among not only researchers but teachers at junior and senior high schools and develop and improve the methods to foster the students' ability and skills to think, judge and express. Although we had to face significant delays due to the loss of research opportunities at school due to COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, the situation improved from the second half of 2021 and we were able to share the result of our research and examples of 'dialogic learning' among learners within language activities.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
