Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The past year was spent writing up research results for publication. Data analysis was completed in the Spring of 2020, and the rest of the year was spent writing a manuscript. Ultimately, the manuscript was submitted as a PhD dissertation in September 2020 and approved in November 2020 by the University of Birmingham. Overall, the findings indicate that learners were generally successful in correcting their collocation errors with a corpus; however, the interpretative demands placed on them to address these errors played an important role in their degree of success.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Manuscript writing went smoothly according to schedule and was finalized in September 2020.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Assuming that circumstances surrounding COVID-19 will improve, the plan is to present the research findings at domestic and/or international conferences.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The primary costs this year will be for technology and conference attendance. Considering the COVID-19 circumstances, if conference attendance is online, then technology purchases will be necessary to be able to record and submit presentations. If travel to conference sites is possible, then expenses will be in the form of travel costs.
