Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, the East Asian cultural range was set by the China mainland, the Japan archipelago, the Korea peninsula, the Vietnam region, and the Ryukyu islands, based on the historical fact that the court was operated based on the courtesy system. That system has a close relationship with material culture because it refers to the styles such as construction, utensils, clothes, etc. according to the social status.Furthermore, although the courtesy system was a social standard, it was premised on its application in accordance with the social circumstances, so it spread to the East Asian region and became a universal standard beyond time and space. In other words, East Asian court crafts have a common style based on the courtesy system, as well as different characteristics that reflect the nation, region, ethnicity, and age behind each court. Based on the above, it was confirmed that East Asian court crafts are good materials for relatively examining East Asian culture.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
