Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project reexamines the fall of the Junghar nomad empire in the middle of the 18th century, not as the result of the conquest by the Qing dynasty, focusing on the internal process of collapse. As research result, based on the premise to understand nomad empire as a confederation of various groups, I clarified the relationship between the Junghar regime and the oasis dwellers, focusing on traffic and trade systems, and traced the changes of the respective elements after the Qing conquest. In addition, I examined the historical materials and terms related to this research, and conducted philological examinations. Through this research, it has become possible to comprehensively grasp the changes in the social conditions of areas around the Tianshan Mountains (eastern Central Asia) in the middle of the 18th century even though the disappearance of nomad empire occurred in this period.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
