Outline of Final Research Achievements

We constructed a framework of the fiscal competition model to analyze various policies adopted by governments either cooperatively or non-cooperatively. Using the proposed framework, we found out that the feasibility of partial tax coordination depended on the type of equalization transfer scheme and the capital endowments of countries. We also demonstrated the effects of capital supply on the endogenous objective of governments or the endogenous timing of policy determination.

標準的な租税競争モデルについて政府が用いる多様な政策の可能性や政策協調の持続可能性を考慮した拡張を行い、理論の守備範囲を広げた点が学術的意義として挙げられる。また、得られた政策含意が、日本を取り巻く経済連携協定における加盟国と非加盟国のあり方等を議論するための基礎的な材料を提供するという点で社会的意義が認められる。
