| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I focused during FY2018 on the analysis of a database on patents applications for medtech innovations throughout the world between 1960 and 2014. The database includes a total of 521,365 patents and was realized in cooperation with Dr. Raphael Imer (Centredoc, Neuchatel, Switzerland). The first results of this analysis were presented at the World Economic History Congress in Boston, in August 2018. A paper has been prepared and will be submited during FY2019 to an international journal.
A second important work was the completion of the special issue "Health Industries in the 20th century" for Business History, together with Prof. Paloma Fernandez (University of Barcelona).

Following the research plan. I will prepare a book proposal in FY2019.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will focus during FY2019 on the submission of a paper on the database analysis to a major international journal in business history and focus on case analysis of Germany, Japan and Switzerland. These papers will be presented in workshops and conferences, and will be chapters of the book under preparation.

Cost of English check for my papers was lower than expected.
