Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of Japanese long-established family businesses and family management through comparative research with those in mainland China and Taiwan, and to elucidate the reasons why so many long-established family businesses exist in Japan. During the research period, I was able to conduct interviews with many family businesses in Japan, mainland China, and Taiwan. As a result, I gave a total of 27 lectures and presentations at forums and academic conferences, and published 4 books (co-authored) in Japanese, 6 papers in Japanese, 1 book (co-authored) in English, and 42 papers in Chinese. In particular, the publication of "Family Businesses and Business Succession in East Asia" was a good summary of this research.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
