平成29年度は中国（香港）、タイ（バンコク）、ミヤンマー（ヤンゴン）、インドネシア（ジャカルタ）を訪問し、自分の意思で海外で起業している日本人経営者への聴き取り調査を行った。香港で2名、バンコクで4名、ミヤンマーで現地勤務者を含め12名、ジャカルタで現地勤務者を含め9名の日本人起業家への聴き取り調査を行った。
研究成果は2017年9月にネパール国カトマンズ市で開催された、16th International Entrepreneurship Forum(IEF) Conferenceへ共著「Japanese Self-Initiated Expatriate Entrepreneurs in Cambodia」（査読付き）を提出し、研究発表を行った。当該論文(Article)は、Best Paper Awardを受賞し,当該論文を加筆修正後、SAGE社が刊行する Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies,Vol4,Issue1, January 2018（ISSN 2393-9575、査読付)に「Mindset and Social Entrepreneurship: Japanese Self-Initiated Expatriate Entrepreneurs in Cambodia 」（pp68-88)として掲載された。当該論文はSAGE社が刊行するOnline Journal にも掲載されている。
加えて、研究代表者の単著『東南アジアで働く』（ISBN978-4-8315-1490-5)が2017年12月にぺりかん社より刊行された。

Reason
2017年度の研究成果は過年度の研究を整理し、研究成果を学会で発表するとともに単著として刊行を行ったものである。すなわち、「Mindset and Social Entrepreneurship: Japanese Self-Initiated Expatriate Entrepreneurs in Cambodia 」は2016年度に聴き取り調査を行った研究成果であり、単著『東南アジアで働く』は2015年以降に香港、タイでの聴き取り調査結果を分析したものである。
そのような経過の中で、2017年度にはミヤンマーで12名、インドネシアで9名の日本人起業家への聴き取り調査を行った。それゆえ、2018年度には、過年度の研究成果に基づき、ミヤンマー、インドネシアでの聴き取り調査の分析結果を国際学会で研究発表する予定である。具体的には、2018年ポルトガルのAveiro大学で開催されるEuropean Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurshipに「Japanese Expatriate Entrepreneurs in Asia: Cases from Myanmar」の題目の論文（Article)を提出し、現在査読中である。
Global Journal of Management and Business Research, DOI:10.17406/GJMBR（査読付き）から投稿依頼を受けており、インドネシアでの調査結果を元に論文を投稿することを検討している。
最終聴き取り調査として、2018年8月にベトナム、ホーチミン・シティ市を訪問し、聴き取り調査を行うことを計画している。これにより、アジア内の5ヶ国での聴き取り調査結果の比較分析が可能になると考えられる。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
本研究総括とし、研究代表者は研究分担者との共著で単著『Expatriate Entrepreneurship: Cases from the Japanese Context』を出版することを計画している。Book Proposal はドイツのSpringer社に提出され、現在、審査中である。目次（案）は下記の通りである。
Chapter One: Defining Expatriate Entrepreneurship、Chapter Two: Entrepreneurship in the Japanese Context、Chapter Three: Japanese Expatriate Entrepreneurs in South East Asia、Chapter Four: Foreign Expatriate Entrepreneurs in Japan、Chapter Five: Future of Expatriate Entrepreneurship in Asia.
2018年度はベトナムで聴き取り調査を行った後、過年度に行った調査データの分析の総括を行い、2019年度の単著出版に向けて執筆に専念する予定である。
研究推進の課題としては、大学での教育、学務等に多くの時間が費やされ、研究のための時間を捻出することが難しいことが挙げられる。

次年度2018年度8月に予定されているベトナムでの聴き取り調査の実施、2018年度に実施したインドネシアでの聴き取り調査記録の作成、ベトナム聴き取り調査記録の作成、2018年9月にポルトガル、Aveiro大学で開催されるEuropean Conference on Innovation Entrepreneurship国際学会に参加・発表する研究代表者ならびに研究分担者の旅費に充てる予定である。
