Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study focuses on the relationship of open innovation between large firms and SMEs. We elucidated the mechanism of the relationship between "SMEs that are rapidly expanding their business scale by outbound type to large firms" and "open innovation approaches to SMEs from the side of large firms," which occurs when open innovation moves into the development stage.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、大企業の機能戦略レベルの組織間関係から語られていたオープン・イノベーションの考え方を、中小企業のオープン・イノベーションのメカニズムを解明することによって、企業戦略や事業戦略レベルに位置づけられた組織間関係として概念モデルを提示したところに学術的独自性が見いだせる。
学術的意義としては、オープン・イノベーションに関する先行研究の限界をクリアし、オープン・イノベーションの概念を具現化することにより、理論進化に貢献した。社会的意義としては、中小企業のオープン・イノベーションのメカニズムを解明することによって、中小企業のイノベーションの「小規模の壁」克服に貢献できる。
