Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study attempted to clarify how local communities are involved in the management of private land through a case study of the relationship between residents and land in the areas affected by the nuclear accident in Fukushima Prefecture in 2011.
As a result, It was found that the basis for the residents' continued involvement with the village land is created through the practice of place within the local community. It was also found that the residents have the intention to have a loose and diverse relationship with the land.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、私有地の管理という私的な問題に地域コミュニティが関与する具体的な方法についての知見が得られた点に学術的意義があると考える。また、本研究は原発事故による被害のあった農山村における土地管理問題に焦点をあてており、災害復興政策に寄与するという社会的意義があると考えているが、今後、本研究で得られた知見を一般化することで、耕作放棄地問題や空き家問題などにも汎用性のある視点を提示することができると考えている。
