Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to clarify the actual state of the principals’ meetings from the Meiji period to the early Showa period through the analysis of records such as the ‘association of principals of secondary schools meeting records in Osaka Prefecture’ remaining at Osaka Prefectural Kitano High School from the fiscal year of Meiji 29 to Showa 15. And the purpose was to consider, from the perspective of practical history research, what roles and functions the principals’ meetings before the pre-World WarⅡplayed in the process of educational policy. As a result of the research, it was clarified that the principals’ meetings had roles and functions not only as an autonomous body of principals for information exchange and as a means of receiving instructions and communications from the administration, but also had a function of conveying opinions from the principals to the administrative organs.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究成果として、『大阪府中学校長会記録』から、戦前の中学校校長会が教育政策過程において、どのような機能や役割を持っていたのかを事例研究として明らかにしたことである。本研究が目的とした校長会記録を資料とする校長会の機能と役割に関する研究は、先行研究でもほとんど扱われたことがなく、戦前の中学校長会の実践研究として学術的価値を持った研究である。また、現在の教育行政過程に対する校長会の機能と役割を考える上でも、校長会の歴史研究の成果として、今までに見ることができなかった基礎的な資料を提供できた意義も持つ研究成果である。
