Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study focuses on geographical inquiry-based learning which is an approach for students to develop their solutions of local and global issues for the sustainable world. The purpose of the study is to clarify the introduction and practice of geographical inquiry-based learning in Asia. During the four-year study period, I first analyzed the secondary geography curriculum and textbooks of Asian countries and regions (Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and South Korea). And then, I proposed a model of geographical inquiry-based learning, and tried to apply the model in the new high school geography subject in Japan.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
