Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Japanese school grammar is based on so-called Hashimoto Grammar, which has been criticized even by Japanese grammarians. We proposed 'Improved Japanese school grammar', which can be utilized not only for logical analysis of Japanese sentence structure but also for the interpretation of various types of Japanese text. Sato proposed the basic idea of the improvement of the school grammar from the viewpoint of functional linguistics (especially Systemic Functional Linguistics), and Murayama and his collaborators cooperated in compiling text data to be used in class practice. This resulted in the workbook, 'Kotoba no Manabi 1 and 2'.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
