Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Last year, I successfully observed exciton formations in exfoliated monolayer WSe2 stacked on top of hBN in spatially resolved ARPES. Different scattering dynamics between direct and indirect excitons has been observed during resonant and off-resonant excitation. In additional, I have directly measured the wavefunction of different excitonic species in real and momentum space. From the data, I can extract the Bohr radius and determine the binding energies of different excitons. I also observed for the first time the long-predicted ‘negative-mass’ dispersion of the electron photoemitted from an exciton experimentally.
