Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence properties were induced in rare earth metals by doping them in chiral nanosilicas prepared through a sol-gel method using chiral molecular assemblies as templates. We conclude that in this system, the rare earth metals exist as ions in the nanosilicas and the silica surrounding rare earth metal ions acts like chiral ligands for them.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
