Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I finished the routine rock magnetic measurements on Site C0023. I attended the postcruise meeting related to IODP Expedition 370 (Site C0023) and presented my work there. I visited ANU in August 2018 to learn a new measurement protocol and conduct measurements (presented at AGU Fall Meeting in December 2018). I discussed with my European colleagues and visited them in January 2019 to talk about the data. A German PhD student is visiting Kochi University in 2019 for extra measurements and discussion (JSPS Summer Program). I supervise a bachelor student who has started paleomagnetic measurements on Site 1174.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Study on Site C0023 is ready for submission in a peer-review journal. Site 1174 has started. Geochemical data were acquired and will be discussed in 2019.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
My bachelor student will acquire new paleomagnetic data on samples from Site 1174. I will supervise a German summer intern in August-September 2019. She's undergrad student and she will carry out paleomagnetic and rock magnetic measurements on samples from Site 808. I will submit a paper on results from C0023 samples. I will supervise a PhD student for 2 months and we'll start writing a joint paper.

Causes of Carryover |
