Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Rock magnetic measurements were carried out on Sites 808 and 1174 before the laboratory shutdown (pandemic).
A Bachelor student graduated his thesis on Site 808.
Results on Sites 808 and 1174 (magnetostratigraphy) were presented at the EGU virtual conference.
I exchanged with collaborators on our joint papers (to be submitted in 2021).

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

The laboratory had to shutdown because of the pandemic.
We required an extension of funds for 2021 which was granted.
Submission of a companion paper from collaborators was delayed for the same reasons (lab shutdown because of pandemic). Everything is expected to go smoothly in 2021.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

One manuscript on Site C0023 and two data reports on Sites 808 and 1174, respectively, are going to be submitted in 2021.
A technical assistant would be hired to help with the last measurements.

Causes of Carryover

The budget will be used to hire a technical assistant to perform last measurements.
Pubication fees might also be covered.
