Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
After the installation of new PacBio Sequel II machine instead of the previously used PacBio RS II we resumed the analysis of DNA base modification pattern during polyp-to-jellyfish transition. However, the project moved slower than expected due to delays in installation and high load on OIST sequencing facility due to COVID19. We also needed to modify DNA preparation protocol in order to decrease the number of single strand breaks. As a result part of sequencing work as well as the final data analysis were shifted to FY2021.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
Research plan was changed (I extended grant period for 1 year) because after installation of PacBio Sequel II machine we did not manage to complete all planned sequencing before April, 1 2021.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The project moved forward slower than expected due to purely technical reasons. I will proceed according to the initial plan.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I did not manage to complete all planned sequencing in FY2020. Remaining budget will be used for PacBio sequencing in FY2021 according to the initial plan.
|
Remarks |
We develop and maintain web resources that contain transcriptomic and genomic data derived from this research project
