Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Regulators of calcineurin 1 (RCAN1) may be involved in depression by regulating the brain-derived neurostimulatory factor (BDNF) that regulates the plasticity of the nervous system. ApoE gene polymorphisation is one of the most potent genetic risk factors in the onset of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Therefore, both the role of nerve and cardiac protection were examined. ApoE knockout cognitive impairment mice were given a high fat or low fat diet with or without voluntary and analyzed movements for three months. The combination of high fat diet and exercise can reduce depression disorders. Exercise and a low fat diet lead to heart protection. Induction of RCAN1 expression affects both neuroplasticity and cardiac function.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
