重症心不全の中でもleft ventricular assist device (LVAD)装着の患者の栄養面の臨床への関わり及び筋量低下の臨床への影響について検討した。術前の栄養状態が悪く、また筋量低下の患者についてはLVAD後の合併症の重症度が高く、LVAD後の経過が不良であることを示した。栄養状態は右心系の圧上昇と密接な関連があることを示し、心不全状態と栄養状態の関連を明らかにした。別の検討で心房細動の心不全に対する負荷について心肺機能検査を用いて解析を行った。
