Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated the relationship between atopic dermatitis and air pollution, focusing on arylhydrocarbon receptor (AhR). So far, we have demonstrated that activation of AhR in keratinocytes activates nerve fibers via artemin. Here we show that AhR activation in keratinocytes increases IL33 and TSLP production and increases ILC2 in the skin, leading to inflammation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
アトピー性皮膚炎は非常に多くの患者がおり、経済的損失、患者QOL低下も著しい。近年、そのメカニズムの解明が非常に進んでおり、新たな治療法も生み出されている。私の研究成果は大気汚染との関係を主におき、新しいメカニズムを提起し、アトピー性皮膚炎の新たな治療法の開発に寄与できるのではないかと考える。
