Keywords
Outline of Final Research Achievements

Our recent findings have revealed that(1)The renal medulla is susceptible to hypoxia during cardiopulmonary bypass and renal medullary hypoxia may contribute to post-operative acute kidney injury,(2)General anesthesia markedly reduced global renal blood flow and regional kidney perfusion, these effects were greater with volatile anesthesia than intravenous anesthesia, (3)Diuretics rapidly restored medullary PO2 to pre-septic levels.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
