| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
成長期の近視は、眼球が大きくなることで生じる。しかしながら、成長期の眼球形態の変化は明かでは無い。近年、光干渉断層計の登場により、眼球形態をマイクロメートル単位で画像化することができ、検査は非侵襲であることから、小学校と中学校の眼球の成長に伴う、眼底微細構造の変化を明らかにすることを目的とする。
小学校3年生から継続して検査している本年度は6年生になった115名の検査を予定通り完了し、データベース化した。小学生は同対象者を4年間継続的に検査することができた。中学生はすでに182名の3年間の検査が終了しており、データべース化されている。
また、小学生4年間、中学生3年間の眼球形態の変化のデータベースを用いて、国際学会で１演題（「Retinal vessel shift and its association with axial length elongation in junior high school students」）、国内学会で５演題（「中学生3年間の網膜血管走行の変化と眼軸長の関連」、「中学3年間の眼軸長と身長・体重との関係」、「小学3年生における乳頭周囲網膜神経線維隆起と眼軸長・コーヌスとの関係」、「中学3年間における乳頭周囲神経線維隆起の出現と眼軸長・眼軸延長の関係」「小学3年から5年の眼軸長と身長・体重との関係」）発表した。また、眼球形態に関する論文が９篇掲載された。

Reason
小学校3年生から継続して検査している本年度は6年生になった115名の検査を予定通り完了し、データベース化した。
また、すでに3年間のデータベース化が完了した中学生と上記小学生のデータを用いて、国際学会で１演題、国内学会で５演題発表した。また、論文が10篇掲載された。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
2018年4月に日本眼科学会に４演題、5月にAssociation for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology（アメリカ、ホノルル）に１演題、5月の国際視野学会に３演題、5月の日本近視学会に３演題発表したのち論文にする。
平成30年度以降も中学１年生になった対象者を中学３年生まで継続的に検査していく。

| Causes of Carryover |
予定していた学会発表、論文投稿の一部が翌年度に持ち越したため、次年度使用額が生じた。平成30年度の学会発表、論文投稿に次年度使用額を使用する予定である。
