| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) children ( ulcerative colitis ;UC and Crohn's disease;CD) aged 5 to 15 years, fecal toxin detection, Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) isolation culture, identification of toxin production patterns in isolated strains, and analysis by Polymerase chain reaction were performed.
As a result, C. difficile was isolated from 6 of 19 (31.6%) and 30 of 113 fecal samples (26.5%).

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
国内外でも十分に明らかになっていない、小児の炎症性腸疾患（IBD）患児〔（潰瘍性大腸炎（UC）およびクローン病（CD）〕のClostridioides difficile(C. difficile) 消化管保有の実態が明らかになったことは意義があると考える。さらに、患者によっては、調査開始時から消化管保有を認める者や調査開始後の経過観察中に消化管保有を求める者等さまざまであり、感染予防対策を考えるうえで、重要な示唆を得ることができた。
