Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we conducted the following three points to construct and evaluate a stoma care system in Lao PDR.(1) Grasping current nursing care of ostomy surgery in Lao PDR(2) Teaching basic ostomy care knowledge and skills(3) Investigating of issues for establishing ostomy care in Lao PDR(4)Based on the results, we have been making a DVD video for stoma care education for nurses in Lao PDR.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の成果は、ラオスで実施されているストーマ造設手術を受ける患者のケアに看護師が主体的に関わる必要性について、看護師自身でその役割を見出し、根拠をもって関わることで看護師のケア技術の向上につながった。また、看護師教育を実践するうえで、ラオス人の特性に応じた指導方法を構築する必要性があることを明らかにした。
