Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This project explores the place of tourism in Japan during the war and early post-war periods. It aims to contribute to understanding the larger relationships between tourism and war in modernity.
In this period I presented about my research, especially that published in early 2018 in a co-edited special issue of Japan Review.
In early July I presented at the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) in Asia Conference in Bangkok. Following this, in mid-July I presented with the co-editor of the special at a dedicated seminar on our publication at the Nichibunken research institute (The 237th Nichibunken Evening Seminar "War, Tourism, and Modern Japan"). Lastly, I traveled to Australia in mid-September to present and discuss about my research with professors from La Trobe university.
