Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study investigated the attitudes and experiences of teachers, students, and program administrators who work at life-long learning programs in Hong Kong and Vietnam toward the commodification and consumption of language education. By comparing situations in Hong Kong, where many learners study Japanese language as their leisure activities, with situations in Vietnam, where many learners study Japanese language for salary increases and employment, it attempted to clarify the differences in the commodification of language education in two different consumption behaviors: leisure learning and investment for social and cultural capital.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
