Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, information on the modern Hokkaido herring fishery, including herring, was organized and a database was created linking it to the location of fishing grounds. The relationship among regions through fishing was examined by analyzing the transition of fixed fishery rights. The study also examined how herring fishermen and herring fishing communities managed and survived during the period of declining herring catches from various viewpoints and in a comprehensive manner.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
