| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The first year of the research on foreign-domestic linkages in China-Japan relations was proceeding smoothly.Two articles were published in the first year:
1) Mong Cheung, Japan`s China Policy on Yasukuni under Abe (2012-2015): a political survival interpretation. Journal of Contemporary East Asia Studies, 6:1, 62-78.
2) 張望：日本対中外交の中の靖国：政治的サバイバルの理論的視点からの分析。『アジア太平洋討究』、No. 30, 2018年、頁103-116。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Numerous empirical data was gathered in the research trip in Hong Kong in Feb 2018 . A book chapter directly related to the research topic will be soon published in June 2018 as well.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
1) It is expected that more empirical data will be gathered from the interviewing process in the next fiscal year.
2) Working hard on publishing the research finding in English, Chinese and Japanese academic journals.

| Causes of Carryover |
-The overseas investigation trip in the summer of 2017 was cancelled, thus leaving incurring amount to be used in the next fiscal year.
