| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Although attendance at international conferences was not possible due to COVID-19 related cancellations, the research project achieved considerable results in this academic year. Two English language publications were approved for final publication in 2021. The most significant of these was an English language research monograph completed in 2020 and published in early 2021: Hall, Jeffrey J. "Japan’s Nationalist Right in the Internet Age: Online Media and Grassroots Conservative Activism." Routledge, 2021. Research from this project will also appear as a book chapter in the edited volume "Hashtag Activism Interrogated and Embodied: Case Studies on Social Justice Movements." University of Colorado/Utah State Press, 2021.
