Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study explored eye movement under Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) task executed by the children with the difficulty of reading. I examined the influence which the stimulus attribute of a RAN task has on naming-speed and eye movement, and the relationship of naming-speed and eye movement. As a result, the following things became clear. First, compared with decoding of the kana and the number, the semantic processing in the naming of the object makes reading-aloud time and the number of fixations increased. Second, it became clear by the individual analysis of an eye movement that individual difference of eye movement is big irrespective of the results of the naming speed of a RAN task.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
