Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We successfully described the negative-parity 3- and 4- states of 12C in a simple container model by using a new technique. The obtained single optimal cluster wave functions for the 3- and 4- states have as high as 96% and 92% squared overlap with the corresponding full solutions of three-cluster system, respectively. From the densities of their intrinsic cluster wave functions, the nonlocalized cluster motion in the two-dimensional container was very clearly demonstrated. Next, we can extend this model to study more complicated negative-parity states like 1- and 5- states and also some high excited states. In addition, a full review paper has been completed and the reseach developement for the new concept, i.e., nonlocalized clustering, is systematically summarized.
